Allpress Espresso began in 1986 when Michael Allpress left his career as a chef to follow his love for traditional Italian espresso and establish one of New Zealand’s first espresso coffee companies, roasting coffee to supply local cafes. A few years later, Michael combined his talents with lifelong friend and well known Sydney restaurateur, Tony Papas to successfully open an Allpress Roastery in Sydney, again roasting locally to supply cafes in Australia. Michael and Tony also recognised the growing demand for specialty coffee in the UK and 2010 marked the opening of a local Allpress Roastery in Shoreditch, London. (AllPress 2013)
